Civil War Fallout

This poster is one of several found over at Michael Paciocco's Mind:

What ever happened to the heroic Iron Man we all grew up with, anyway?

He's coming to a theater near you on May 2. Early buzz for the film is excellent. I've seen several reviews of recent screenings and everyone says the film rocks. Can't. Freakin. Wait. IM has always been my favorite Marvel hero.

Aside from Cap, Iron Man is my favorite Marvel Hero as well. I cannot wait for the movie.

Good year for Superhero Movies - in addition to the amazing looking Iron Man, Hellboy 2 looks good and Dark Knight Looks Freaking Awesome.

Agreed. The only superhero movie that's giving me pause is The Hulk. The first trailer left me cold.

Can't wait for Hellboy II. STK and I absolutely LOVED the first film. Dark Knight, too.

I may be the only one to say this, but I actually really liked the last Hulk movie.

But yeah, I'm really stoked about the Iron Man movie. >hums "Iron Man" opening riff<

I liked the Ang Lee film Mikey. His father as the Absorbing Man was pretty lame, but I liked the rest. I'm not sure why they felt the need to reboot the franchise.

Dunno.
I didn't mind the Ang Lee movie. I liked the tone and style.

The only thing I didn't like was the ending fight - it was dark and muddy, and really difficult to follow (with absorbing man getting lightning or storm or whatever he did).
That left a bad taste in my mouth because it doesn't matter how good the first 2 hours of a movie are, if you blow it in the last 15 minutes, that is what people remember. I had the same problem with the Spider/ GG fight in the first Spiderman movie.

The fact that Lee and Bana didn't want to do another Hulk movie may be why they rebooted it.
And Abomination... Woot!!

Saw it.
Best superhero movie I've seen in quite a while.

And make sure you stay after the credits for an extra scene. :)

I saw it on Thursday. I give it 5 Repulsors (out of 5). Pretty darn good flick.

Did you stay for the Aftercredit scene. That as awesome (or more) than the rest of the movie.

I tend to let the ending of movies influence me to a great degree. I liked the first spider-man (mostly), but the last fight scene was one of the worst fight scenes I'd ever scene in a movie (two characters designed to be mobile fighting in enclosed space - yeck). I walked out of the theater wanting my money back, even though I enjoyed most of it.

That last scene in Iron Man has me jonesing for 3 other upcoming Marvel movies (Hulk, Thor, Captain America)

And it is sort of sad that the best stuff from marvel these days is in the movie theater rather than in the comics.

Joe Q is to Editing what Liefeld is to art.

AMAZING. That's the only way I can think to describe the movie. Exceeded my wildest expectations.

And the best three words from the movie were in the after-credits scene:

"The Avengers Initiative"
